Spektrum was born from a lifelong connection to gymnastics, not just as a business, but as a lived experience.
Founded in Texas by former gymnast and designer Ana Gutierrez, Spektrum grew from years spent inside the world of competitive gymnastics: training in gyms, understanding the pressure athletes carry, and recognizing how powerful it feels to step onto the floor wearing something that makes you feel confident, strong, and seen.
Before Spektrum existed, Ana grew up surrounded by the craftsmanship of leotard design and production through one of Latin America’s most recognized gymnastics apparel companies, Gilling Active Wear. From an early age, she learned every part of the process; fabrics, fit, embellishment, performance construction, and the artistry behind garments made for movement. But more importantly, she learned that what gymnasts wear becomes part of how they perform, remember, and experience the sport.
In 2019, Ana and her husband, Juan Pablo, made the decision to begin manufacturing in the United States — transitioning from the traditional industry model of overseas and Latin American production to building a production operation based in Houston, Texas.
Together, they created Spektrum with the vision of combining elevated design and technical artistry with strong operations, production structure, and quality control. Ana leads the creative direction, design, and athlete experience behind the brand, while JP oversees administration, production systems, and quality standards, creating a balance between creativity and precision that defines Spektrum today.
As Spektrum continued to grow, so did the team behind it. What began as a small operation evolved into a collaborative group of designers, seamstresses, production specialists, creatives, and team members who bring every collection to life. Their craftsmanship, dedication, and attention to detail have become an essential part of what Spektrum is today. Without them, Spektrum’s creations would not carry the same level of artistry, care, and meaning.
